New Ford Talladega Banjo Matthews Prototype

There is no doubt that the car is the first annual Ford Talladega Family Reunion was held in 2010 Forge Muscle Car Show. This car has been restored and is owned by Jason Thompson. Jason also owns other uncorrected Talladega prototype white car Banjo Matthews.
Ford built this car from September 25, 1969 a few months before production of the first Talladega January 22, 1969. You can look at this car in her beautiful pink color with a "C" line on the page without that Ford wants to build them all this way. Can you imagine how they would receive Talladega today from his chair, air conditioning and bright colors on the outside?
Here are some of the unique characteristics of this prototype, which would distinguish it from the production of Talladega.

The boundaries were changed by hand, which is shaping Rocker;

-The car is a GT trim;

-Chairs and console;

Rimblow wheel and tachometer;

A hood scoop, ram air (ram air Talladega just built);

Several back-bar;

Several front-end that is the same, but all the panels are different from the production;

-No hood latch, hood pins only, and;

Bright-red color with a white line 'C'.

Not only is it a rare piece of history, but the reconstruction was completed by Jason and his father Clarence at a very high level.

Thanks for saving this once lost a part of automotive history.

To learn more about the history of this rare prototype Ford Talladega Banjo Matthews, click here.
White Talladega seen in the picture below, the second prototype Banjo Matthews, who also owned by Jason. Currently, in the same condition as when Jason and his father a car in the summer of 2010. The duo is expected back the early restoration of this car document.

White prototype has much the same difference as the red car, and I think a car that was used in all Ford early marketing and sales brochures for Talladega.

Ford Talladega and Mercury Spoiler Details and pictures

If you get 25 rare cars in one place, you can not help but look at how different or similar, all can be. During a recent family gathering, Ford Talladega, we took our cameras around to some details of these cars to see. See what we found.
This spoiler is a sticker with a space between "Cyclone" and "spoiler". No one in the bottom of what exactly?

"T" on the door seems to Talladega since the early cars to depart at the end of the car. Prototypes are made of aluminum alloy and look smooth, early production examples seem to differ, but a smooth surface, and the newer versions have more "brushed" finish the last few cars had stickers, no signs.
You know the change? Why change?

This is a "T" on the prototype Banjo Matthews. It is very similar, but different from the production car.
Here the "T" of the subsequent production of Talladega. It is difficult to see in the picture, but there is a brushed finish on the surface.
This is indicated by "T" at Talladega last. This is not an original sticker, but play is that it looks like one that came with the car when it was rebuilt.

The question of what is good consistency in the league at Talladega is always black when you sometimes Talladega two owners each other. The car has a smooth surface and underground texture, others are somewhere in between. What do you think, and why?

Spoiler / Spoiler II rear wing is also a topic of conversation. Given that the seller was delivered in a suitcase is not always installed. Almost all coaches were Dan Gurney and Cale Yarborough cars have black wings competition. But we are original DG blue car with a wing here, and CY is a car with a red sash. It comes from the factory, dealer painted, or ...?
Each Talladega, spoiler and rear spoiler II also came with a wrap steering wheel. Did you know that is installed at the factory or store. This is one of the original.
Another question I have heard much in the show is: "Do all 1969 428 Talladega cars are equipped with a CA smog or car?" Comments?

Looking at these pictures, there is another question will be answered. When Ford changed from chrome valve covers aluminum enclosure? Early cars have Chrome and let cars are made of aluminum, but when I switch?
What about Talladega and spoiler literature and annoying waste and cut marks on the original car?

New Ford’s Better Idea; Stop-Start Technology?

He says that in 2112 Ford will bring many of its cars and SUVs to rest in the U.S. with a stop-start technology. What will make the engine turns off automatically when the car is stationary. All this is done to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Pine Technology Start-Stop will be available with manual or automatic transmission.

Ford's new-generation four-cylinder direct injection engines will be the first to start-stop technology to get, but plans are plans for over four, six and eight-cylinder engine family. But technology can not be used on all models, including pickups, the F-Series Super Duty, the spokesman said.

Now not only do I get out of line for a new Ford? Damn, I had a car like the one in high school 40 years ago. Every time I pulled up to stop the engine is not too much. Of course it is "old school" technology and I had to manually reboot, and it's a pain in the back!

I am one of them driven hybrid that samething. Every time I stopped at this point is to stop and I will come down on the key! This is not a good idea.

Ford, let alone us oldies! Now it's a better idea what you mean?

1969 Studebaker Avanti II Road Test

Previously we showed you an introduction to the original Avanti in 1963. Unfortunately, these cars quickly the way of the Studebaker is no more. Thanks to some loyal investors, and the car was reborn in 1969 and is powered by a Corvette engine compressor and a hand-built 3 cars per week!

Over the years many attempts to work and Avanti lovers. As you can see in this road test of the 1969 Avanti is not a luxury cruiser, but was much more than a muscle car.

I hope you enjoy this look back at a lower price makes the muscle car era.

1969 Ford Talladega Prototype; Banjo Matthews Update

For once, I talked about the great work Jason Thompson and his father Clarence restoration work with Banjo Matthews Ford Talladgea prototypes. There is a red that was made just in time for 2010 Talladega reunification. This car will soon be featured in Muscle Car Review magazine. On the contrary, the white car is included in his "barn find" the situation in the show was held in conjunction with the Forge Muscle Car Show in Kingsport, TN.
It's red type at Resto duo Banjo Matthews won the car. (I do not think the cat was a factory option.)

It's the same car after our Super Heros reconstruction.
It is a white prototype Museum Floyd Garrett in the same condition as when taken. From there he went to the first Talladega family reunification, and then workshop the duo for a refreshing light.
After the reunion of Jason and Clarence White took the prototype back to his store with the intention to a full recovery to compare what they did for the red car. Some of us speak Superhero Resto-Duo, cool your heals and keep the car in original condition.

But it can be a good time to point out that the "original state" is a bit confusing cars like this. Since the pre-production prototype and used for different purposes, not unlike an old racing car, they have many possible configurations. After racing cars can be used for years, many riders and sponsors during this period. Often you can even several years of sheet metal attached to the chassis during this period. Well, the prototypes used for various design details, a photo shoot for a catalog or magazine, testing, and will often be painted different colors to the public believes that more than one car. Yes, that is what is supposed to be in good condition?

The first version? Most versions? What is the latest version? I think it was a restaurateur, what is their preferred version, or what is the most important historical?
We are a small track with, but our Super Heros I have a number of mechanical repairs, polished paint and added the missing sticker on the side and presto, a pretty cool car. According to our superhero duo have now decided to sit with a white prototype Banjo Matthews and enjoy for one year or so. The car is so perfect that it can not control, but unique, rare and in good condition to be satisfactorily demonstrated.
Look at these pictures before and after what the big difference with a number of competent effort to see.

You could see this car and some other unique surprises of the 2011 Talladega reunification, there!
If you're in a 1969 Ford Talladega, Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II and one or spoiler of these cars to race at Talladega this year's Family Reunion display. It is not something to judge on this show that for every vehicle in all conditions. People who love their own cars in any condition and it is a good place to learn more about them.

New Ford Talladega Family Reunion 2011; Including Mercury Spoiler & Spoiler II

It's time to prepare for 1969-Ford Talladega reunification. No, it's not a bunch of redneck Alabama native members of the family to meet for a drink dreams, maybe even a couple. If you are new to this site should know that they are indeed in the 1969 NASCAR Ford brand cars and aircraft engines. These cars are designed and built for one purpose are quick on the super speedway like Daytona and Talladega.

These cars are only built in 1969 and in very limited numbers. Be specific family meeting, Ford Talladega, Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II and spoiler, Cale Yarborough, Dan Gurney specials. If you add up all the cars that were built for this purpose, the total amount is approximately the same number as the number of car 1970 Plymouth Super Bird! When was the last time you saw your show at Super Bird or pleasure? Now believe that the blue oval brand 5 different cars built, but still significantly higher than the number of winged Road Runners.

On 9 September and October 2011 in Sevierville, Tennessee, Talladega second annual family reunion will assemble what will be the largest collection of these vehicles after they left the factory in 1969. The first annual reunion was 25 examples, ranging from restored originals of many prototype race cars and fully restored classics. 2011 hopes to double that number is unique and as vehicles on display.
Three things make this show stand out.

1: a All Ford Talladega, Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II spoiler and cars have the right to participate. Not only show cars, but all the results of an ongoing stalls or dissatisfied drivers, until the top of the line trailer queens are acceptable.
2: This one is a non-judged show. The idea is to see these cars as they are, show cars are nice, original archaeological research and is stable, the surprise package.
3: e Ultimately this show held in conjunction with one of the best muscle car shows in the world, Forge Muscle Car Show. Here are some of the best muscle car in the Bucket List!

Forge Muscle Car Show is an invitational show, just come to accept and use. Talladega Family Reunion guests will also show ... If you're one of these cars are welcome! But you must still register. You have two options, one inside or outside the show Forge Show. Spectator admission charged for access to the show, but the two weekend tickets are included in your subscription. Outside the show has no admission, but is free to get in your car.
Talladega Family Reunion is much more than just a show, meetings and events. This is a chance for everyone who owns one of these cars are owned by one of them, or perhaps a desire for a meeting and visit with others with similar interests to keep. In addition, participants will be able to see the video, reviews of the latest findings and components to visit, with a number of famous experts who were there when they were built and raced cars. There are even plans for a seminar on Sunday morning for breakfast after the show and learn about these cars, and plans to expand the reunion.
I have the car in a very long time in the car shows, I agree that the race for sailing, and there is one thing I can say with certainty. It's not a trophy or a magazine feature that makes your day, it's the people you meet and tell stories while sitting in the garage, which leaves a lasting memory. The Talladega Family Reunion is about meeting friends, looking for rare cars and tell some good stories. It is a rare opportunity to share the weekend with us in the Forge Muscle Car Show and Ford Talladega reunification.

We bring you a monthly update on the show and a number of registered participants one month, leading to the show.

If this is not enough to come to the concert feeling that the event will take place at the edge of the Smokey Mountains National Park, just minutes from Dollywood and at the same time as the shadow of the past show Rod Run held in the area one week before the Grand Rod Run. And if all this were not enough reason to believe, there's always Floyd Garrett Muscle Car Museum is in the street to visit!
